10195 Republic Dropship with AT-OT
The Republic Dropship with AT-OT is easily one of the greatest, if not the greatest LEGO set to have arisen from the Clone Wars franchise. And this fact would be agreed by any LEGO Clone Wars aficionados. It is a thing of beauty. It is a behemoth that is easily one of the most special sets to ever been produced by LEGO.
The Republic Dropship set was perfect in almost every possible way. The whole design is incredibly accurate and features tons of playability features. The set weighed over six pounds and the attention to detail is immaculate. There is not a single LEGO set from the Clone Wars franchise that can match the grandeur and scale of the Republic Dropship.
The set was released way back in 2009 and featured a whopping 1,758 pieces for a price tag of $249.99.To be honest the Minifigures could have been better or at least the set could have featured 3 more of them. But apart from that, there is nothing else you could ask for, as this is easily one of the best LEGO sets from all of Star Wars.
The Malevolence (9515)
This Malevolence set from the Clone Wars may have not been popular but it is one of the best Lego Clone Wars Sets in my opinion. The reason I hold it in such high regard is that when you compare it with the Malevolence Arc from The Clone Wars, you will be surprised at how accurate it is.
The Malevolence set also features a handle that lets you carry it around easily. The interior is also intricately designed and features some nice play functions. And finally, the Minifigure selection is topnotch too. You get Padme Amidala, Battle Droid, Count Dooku, Anakin Skywalker, General Grievous, and Battle Droid Commander, that’s a mighty lineup.
The Malevolence set features over 1000 pieces and originally was priced at 119.99 dollars, which was an incredible deal. The Malevolence is the only Separatist Capital Ship produced by LEGO, making it special and one of a kind.
Republic Frigate (7964)
The Republic Frigate from 2011 is one of my favorite Clone Wars sets. It was accurate in design, featured some awesome Minifigures, allowed for some interesting plays, and was priced reasonably too. The Republic Frigate set was excellent for children, Minifigure collectors, and diehard Star Wars fans.
The Republic Frigate set’s standout feature was its Minifigures as it introduced new characters like Quinlan Voss, Commander Wolffe, and Eeth Koth. Diehard Star Wars fans will understand the value of these characters. The set also featured a handle, a removable escape pod, and a detailed cockpit too.
The Republic Frigate was designed exceptionally well, with some extremely detailed interiors that are easily accessible through hatches. This allowed for some interesting playthroughs with different settings. With over 1100+ pieces, the set was massive but was priced at only $119.99, if it was released today, it would have cost a fortune.
Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser (8039)
This LEGO set from the Clone Wars Universe is one of my favorites, I will be mentioning the word favorite quite a bit in this article but it's true as I can’t make up my mind. I love all of the sets on this list, and the Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser is no different.
This set features top-notch design, incredible Minifigures, and an apt price tag. The set features an accurate representation of the original from Clone Wars. The set also features Senate Commandos, which back in the day was a first. The two included Commandos made the set extremely popular. The design of the entire set stands out and makes it one of a kind.
I do wish that the Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser was bigger in scale, but at the same time, it would have cost much more too. The set was originally introduced in 2009 and featured 110 pieces, so the price tag of $119.99 was fair. Wish they produced the same set, it is truly one of the best LEGO Clone Wars sets.
Republic Attack Gunship (7676)
The Republic Attack Gunship is an iconic Clone Wars LEGO set and is certainly a fan favorite too. This is all because of its accurate design, good playability features, and the excellent set of included Minifigures. The Republic Attack Gunship featured intricate designs both on the outside and inside.
The attention to detail is just extraordinary. Once fully assembled, you would fall in love with it. The set also features stickers that allow for different play styles. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon, Commander Cody, a Clone Trooper, and Ventress are the included Minifigures and what a lineup to play with.
This set from 2008 has been replaced with a better Republic Gunship (2013) from Attack of the Clones but, this model holds dear in the hearts of many Clone Wars fans including me. With 1034 pieces and some exciting Minifigures, this $199.99 (original price) set is one of the best LEGO Clone Wars Sets.
BARC Speeder with Sidecar (75012)
This 2013 superhit LEGO Clone Wars set featured a BARC Speeder with Sidecar along with a Phase II Clone Captain Rex figurine. The set also featured Minifigures of a redesigned Obi-Wan Kenobi and two Commando Droids.
The main reason for the success of the BARC Speeder set was the intricate design and Minifigures. All of the Minifigures are rare to get hold of today. The BARC Speeder itself featured an outstanding design, future improving the set’s popularity.
This BARC Speeder set could have been even more iconic if it featured an additional Clone Trooper as it would complete a perfect army set. Nevertheless, the BARC Speeder set is one of the most iconic LEGO sets from the Clone Wars universe. It featured 226 pieces and for its original $24.99 price tag, it was an absolute steal.
Republic AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon (75045)
The Clone Wars franchise has had many awesome LEGO sets that have gone unappreciated by the general public. The Republic AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon from 2014 is one of the most underrated sets of the Lego Clone Wars Sets. The most probable reason this set didn't get the attention it deserved was probably its store exclusivity, which meant it wasn't available for purchase widely all over the world.
The design of the anti-vehicle cannon is perfect in my opinion. It is an excellent recreation of the original from the 2008 Clone Wars movie. The included Minifigure selection is also impressive as you get Plo Koon, 2 Wolfpack Clone Troopers, and Droideka. The Republic AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon would have been a huge success if it was available more easily, but it is easily one of the best lego clone wars sets.
Conclusion
The Clone Wars franchise allowed LEGO to come with some amazing sets to play with. While some sets were more amazing than others, it was hard to come up with a list of the best LEGO Clone Wars sets, because there are so many.
Some fans may be upset that I didn’t include Clone Turbo Tank or the iconic Clone Walker Battle Pack, and I even feel bad about it. They are also some of my favorite sets from Clone Wars but the above are my absolute favorites and so I have listed them as the best LEGO Clone Wars sets.
All of the above sets are designed with a lot of detail, feature some amazing Minifigures, and are iconic. So, what’s your favorite? And why? This is my list of the best LEGO Clone Wars sets in my opinion.
