In Westside Barbell, John started his first powerlifting. The passion he had for bodybuilding was so strong that he became one of the world's best and most popular bodybuilders!

John Meadows Unexpected Death
Professional bodybuilder John Meadows has died at 49. He passed away on August 8, 2021. John had a history of health problems, but no cause of death has been revealed. In 2005 he was diagnosed with a rare colon illness - Idiopathic Myointimal Hyperplasia of the Mesenteric Veins. He had to have his colon removed, returning to amateur bodybuilding classes later as a coach.
John Meadows was hospitalized in May of 2020 because he experienced heart attacks caused by blood clots. He recovered, but his physicians discovered a weakness in a portion of his heart. His professional life continued, and he started training and coaching people after that.
