Kapil Sharma was born Kapil Punj on April 2, 1981, Punjab, India. He has gone by many names such as "Kapil" or "The Fun Star" because he is always coming up with new ways to make people laugh and feel comfortable when they come to see his shows.
But it didn't happen overnight! Kapil made a living as a ticket collector for Indian Railways. Still, the idea of being able to make people laugh on television became something that he knew he could pursue after going through various workshop programs and building experiences along the way, which helped him get blown up in popularity.
The Rise to Fame of Kapil Sharma
Kapil is a man who is well known after winning India's most famous comedy reality show. Winning that competition led him to fame, and he was able to earn the prize money of INR ₹10 lakh. He first appeared as a guest host on television, and before that, he was trying to make it as a singer in Mumbai.
Kapil made his debut in Bollywood in the movie Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, directed by Abbas Mustan. He was seen opposite Manjari Phadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi and Sai Lokur. The film was released on September 25, 2015 to mixed reviews from critics but did exceedingly well at the box office.
Kapil Sharma and Wife, Ginni
On December 12, 2018, Kapil married Ginni Chatrath. The couple had two children, a daughter named Anayra, born in 2019, and a son named Trishaan, born in 2021.
These two have a very interesting and cute love story. Kapil Sharma said he never tried to pursue his wife Ginni Chatrath because of their class differences, though she was attracted to him. Kapil revealed that while Ginni comes from a 'well-to-do family' and used to drive around in her youth on a scooter, he was not as well-off at that point in time.

Not only did he support an initiative by making appearances on behalf of PETA, but he also adopted a homeless dog from Mumbai, which retired from the Mumbai Police Force. He actively participated in saving tortured elephants all across the country and was also awarded for this act by none other than India's Prime Minister.
After being nominated as one of the top sanitation ambassadors by Prime Minister Modi, he actively promoted a cleaner India through his show.
