The Rise to Fame of Jocko Willink
Before he became popular, he served in the Navy SEALs. His service includes combat action during the Iraq War under his SEAL Team 3's Task Unit Bruiser, who fought against Iraqi insurgents in Ramadi. He received the Silver Star and Bronze Star medals for this service and gained the rank of lieutenant commander.
Aside from his military service, he also co-authored some books entitled "Extreme Ownership" and "The Dichotomy of Leadership." He also co-founded Echelon Front, LLC, a management consulting firm.
After his retirement, he opened a fitness center together with his wife, Helen. He got a black belt as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. After that, he founded a company, Echelon Front, with Leif Babib, his former Navy SEAL fellow. They planned to make a book about their journey and career in the U.S. Navy.
